Season 2017-2018

The business is growing 14% year, more consultancy, survey and general service are required.

After 20 years business we had a top positive feed back. We still traveling a lot from Sweden where we survey the yacht of the Finalcial Manager of HR, Spain, Holland, Greece, France and Poland. We have been twice in Portugal finding new customer and new markets.

A day in the office (a rare moment)


The 2017 saw the delivery of a Grand Soleil 58 N°7 Bravura for an American customer where I was his surveyor together with the South African crew and the 2018 will see another Grans Soleil 58 N°11 for an Italian customer. A great opportunity to see the full boat process and built a good cruiser-racer and work with a young staff.

We have been involved in the project of the Vismara 100.The owner and the Captain and the Engineer require some extra help and some advices to follow this 33m carbon yacht. Not easy

Around the end of 2017 two yachts has been launched.

ONDANERA a Dix 43 (just in the hull) totally review by our design office and built in Rome in more than 4 years, according to the owner specification and requirement. The boat is a real offshore yacht with a modified bow and a simple interior open space for a couple.

RoRo 33 is a modern 10m with advanced cockpit and aft sunbed, built in Aramat composite and sandwich sides. Its’ the typical med sport boat custom built.



Now, after 20 years business it’s time to see some boat on the used market. In some case the owner became older, most of them are over 70y.

This is the case of Francescana (now Sargo), the last Passoa 46 built by Garcia in 2006 is now for sale in USA and for the Wood 900 a Top of the Art day sailer launched in 2011.

Its’ time to update the web page of the survey, more customers are coming and the boat are older and with more problem at the keel, chianplates and structural grid.

The 2017 has been a year full of claims and we had to assist several owner in Greece, Italy and Caribean after Irma passage.

I’m the worst blogger ever, but I still busy traveling and follow many new yachts, used yachts and some design. Fortunately from 2008 we made the right choice to stay in the market, offering high quality services. We have time for some sailing with the family and enjoy other yachts.

Aka,  built by K&M Holland and completed by Zuanelli has now sailed over 2000nm. Owner is happy, just some fine tuning, regular for a new boat. Aluaka and Aka meet in Nidri Bay, Greece end of October for some photos. Aluaka finish the seal trial with 6 months sailing, with nice sailing experience, because this year was quite windy.

The Cannes Boat show was a great show, all the builder are producing boat over 50 feet, because the market is now requiring bigger yacht and catamaran. The boat market around 12m still a disaster, but this helps the used boat market. A lot of customers are locking for an used boat, almost recent with 10 or max 15 years old. It’s very hard to sell or find a god boat over 20 years with a reasonable price. The price and the location remain the key factors to sell quickly a used good boat.
There are a lot of enquire for aluminum boat, Ovni remain the most popular brand, but there are few hull on the market ready to go. After the survey, how sell, often ask me what to buy and a long research start.We plan to visit asap Boreal Yachts and Garcia Yachting to have a overlook.

A partire dal 18 gennaio 2017 potranno essere immessi sul mercato dell’Unione Europea solo unità da diporto e componenti (serbatoi, oblò, timonerie, ecc.) conformi alla nuova direttiva 2013/53/UE. Da tale data, infatti, cessa la “convivenza” tra la vecchia direttiva 94/25/CE-2003/44/ CE e la nuova 53, cioè il periodo transitorio di un anno entro cui barche e “accessori” potevano essere conformi all’una o all’altra disposizione normativa.
Godono ancora del periodo di transizione, fino al 17 gennaio 2020, i motori di propulsione ad accensione comandata (AC) fuoribordo con potenza pari o inferiore a 15 kW conformi ai limiti di emissione di gas di scarico previsti dalle vecchie disposizioni, fabbricati da piccole e medie imprese.
È utile sottolineare che i prodotti esistenti e già presenti sul mercato non sono toccati dalle nuove disposizioni comunitarie.
Per i nuovi prodotti, cioè barche e componenti che entreranno nel mercato a partire dal prossimo 18 gennaio 2017, c’è poco da dire: devono essere conformi alla direttiva 2013/53/UE e rispettare i requisiti costruttivi, di sicurezza e di protezione ambientale previsti dalla nuova disposizione comunitaria (la nuova direttiva è stata recepita in Italia col decreto legislativo 11 gennaio 2016, n. 5).

Ma l’obbligo di conformità alla nuova direttiva vale anche per la produzione di serie “precertificata” cioè i vecchi certificati saranno da aggiornare, se ben fatti e completi. Cambiano anche alcune diciture e regole di costruzione. Contattateci per l’aggiornamento delle pratiche, se prevedete di vendere una barca dopo il 17 Dicembre 2017.
Le operazioni potranno partire dal solo 1° Dicembre 2016 ed attualmente non esiste ancora una procedura definita ed un listino per gli aggiornamenti.

16-6-2015 A New Yacht Born-Aluaka-Stadtship 54 Ac

After 13 months working, 300 hours driving, 5000 hours design, 3000 hours interior workingn, 3000 system and hardware working, with 15 days delay for mast builder delay, thank to Cantiere Zuanelli, Autostraporti Adbon Pedretti with 5 m height truck transport, ALUAKA, touch the water in the Harbour of Chioggia (Venice), Darsena Le Saline.

It took 5 hours to launch, preare and install the mast, boom and the solar panel arch under a 30°c sun already tested in the Zuanelli Yard.

Finally we get a bert and a nice rain drop all the night.It seams Ushuaia. Flag is on the pole and the Pantaenisu Insurance is ready.

Next month will be busy for sea trial.
